About the project

Apartment on Mosfilmovskaya street

I love designing interiors for apartments that have history. This project is located on the upper floor of an old building that was originally built to accommodate admirals of the fleet. The initial layout was already quite good but I still had to make some changes to make it perfect. I introduced huge glass doors to the living room in order to let some light into the vast entrance area and also widened the bathroom for it to accommodate the washing machine and drier.

My clients wanted a calm pastel color scheme for their new home so I went for a buttery white as the main color and added a complex greyish-beige tone to accompany it. I also introduced different colors to lighten up the rooms: a peach sofa in the living room, pink accent wall in the bedroom and blue for the nursery.

The kitchen is a fairly narrow and long space, so I added a counter top along the window for the clients to have some space for the morning coffee with a view. We were very lucky with the living room as it is an almost perfect square in shape allowing me to place a large seating group with two armchairs. You can easily modify the space by bringing the pouf that is now used as a lounge table to the sofa to watch a movie or simply lie down for a bit.

I also replaced the old bedroom window with the new one that opens up the space to the balcony and allows much more light and air in.
