My new clients wanted to create a bright interior with juicy accent colors. Surprisingly, the color scheme was inspired by yellow stripes on a warehouse floor. I opted for an off-white color for the walls and light oak for floors and some furniture details.
A bright yellow entrance door sets the mood for an entire apartment, I used the same shade of yellow for the couch in the living room. Bathroom features concrete tiles and same floor texture as the rest of the space.
There was no way to escape a long corridor in this project due to the pillars that were right in the middle of the space. I opted for a light wall color and some contrasting painted stripes on the ceiling and walls that give an optical illusion of a shorter corridor.
Despite the small size (I decided to dedicate more space to the closet) this bedroom turned out very cozy: the walls AND the ceiling around the headrest are painted into a slightly darker color than the rest of the room and a suspended Flos light adds some style to the whole composition. There was a building pillar in the middle of the wall opposite to the bed which we flanked by shelves to make the wall look even.
This joyful interior is a great mood booster during long nasty Moscow rains.
