About the project

Tribeca Apartments

Good planning is a key to designing smaller functional spaces. This cozy apartment used to be a simple rectangle of a total space slightly less than 30 sqm featuring a big window.

Due to careful planning based on a walk-through kitchen I managed to create a bright functional space for comfortable living enjoying maximum amount of natural sunlight. I opted for white as a dominant color of the apartment highlighting several areas with cozy beige and fresh blue.

Despite its modest size the bathroom features a shower with shelves and a large counter top that hides the washing machine and gives enough storage space for all the necessities. Big mirror covering the wall above the counter top visually doubles the space.

The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances and an additional work surface that can be used as a home office or breakfast table.

A full-size bed is hidden in the niche behind the kitchen creating a small but comfortable and cozy bedroom space. I painted the bedroom cube in a contrasting blue creating an effect of a smaller item placed into a bigger white space.

Dining area along with living area are located closest to the window featuring the view. This project shows how good design can transform a simple box into a functional living space.
